Global Action Plan is working with Derbyshire County Council for a year to support EcoTeam activities in Derbyshire.

During March two groups of people were trained to lead EcoTeams and we have interest in EcoTeams in:

• Belper
• Buxton
• Chesterfield
• Erewash
• Holbrook
• Long Eaton
• Matlock
• New Mills
• Wirksworth

We are keen to make links with other organisations and individuals, especially in South Derbyshire. Global Action Plan is also training individuals to use some of the interactive EcoTeams resources, which are good for talking to community groups about environmental issues. Batteries: Lots of retailers that sell batteries from pharmacies to supermarkets now have battery recycling bins. Used household batteries can now also be taken to any of Derbyshire’s libraries form where they will subsequently be sent for recycling.
