Fridge-freezers

Since our Energy meeting, I've been investigating energy efficient fridge-freezers with a view to replacing our old one, which is in a cold utility room - a good place to keep a fridge-freezer, according to this website. But modern fridge-freezers are supposed to be kept in a temperature above 10'C, some above 16'C, in order to work properly. For us, this would mean rejigging the kitchen to make room for it inside, a big hassle. Has anyone any experience of keeping newer fridge-freezers in a cold place?Gail, Moorside Ecoteam, Newcastle.
